Stop a stock-out before it happens
the top-selling 16A circuit breaker is running low, with customer orders still to deliver.
You are
Nina Petrov, Buyer at Aurora Components.
The situation
the top-selling 16A circuit breaker is running low, with customer orders still to deliver.
Seeing a stock-out coming means reading stock, promised orders and lead times together. Here you ask.
Step by step
Each step as it looks in the demo installation, on Aurora Components (Demo).
Open Dynocortex → Chats and ask
"Are we about to run out of anything?"
Ask
"How many 16A breakers should we order, from whom, and when would they arrive?"
Make the request yourself: Stock → Material Request → New, item DEMO-BRK-16, the quantity suggested, and your initials in the description. Save it; don't submit. Unsure how? Open the Ask panel's Help tab, or ask it "How do I raise a material request?"
On your saved request, ask in the Ask panel
"Who needs to approve this?"
What a good answer contains
DEMO-BRK-16(Circuit breaker 16A): fewer in stock than is promised to customers, nothing on order, so projected stock is below zero and well below its reorder level of 300.- A quantity to order, from recent weekly sales and the reorder level.
- The suppliers compared: Orion Switchgear and Ridgeway Breakers, their lead times and how often they deliver late.
- Who approves: above Nina's $2k, Morgan (operations) or Ellen (controller), each up to $10k.
What the full product does beyond the demo
The Executive drafts the material request on its approval card, and once approved, the purchase order from it, both unsubmitted for the buyer to check.
Answers are worded afresh each time, so yours will read differently. The demo company is made up, and its data goes back to the start every night.
