The situation
panels are needed for a project, about $6,000 of them. Who places the order, and who has to approve it?
Who may approve what is usually in someone's head or a spreadsheet. Dynocortex knows the team, their roles and their approval limits.
Step by step
Each step as it looks in the demo installation, on Aurora Components (Demo).
Open Dynocortex → Chats and ask
"I need to order about $6,000 of 12-way panels from Orion for the Keystone job. Who should place it, and who can approve it?"
Ask
"And if it were $12,000?"
Ask
"What's our policy on taking on a new supplier?"
Open Buying → Purchase Order and filter Supplier for Orion Switchgear: the last orders and prices behind the answer.
What a good answer contains
- Nina (the buyer) places it; $6,000 is above her $2,000, so Morgan (operations) or Ellen (controller), who approve up to $10,000, approves it.
- At $12,000 it is above everyone's limit, so it goes to the owner.
- A new supplier is taken on by Morgan or Ellen, and every lot it sends is inspected on receipt.
- Orion's recent orders and prices for the 12-way panel.
What the full product does beyond the demo
The Executive drafts the order on an approval card that only someone with the right limit can approve, and keeps who approved what in one record.
Answers are worded afresh each time, so yours will read differently. The demo company is made up, and its data goes back to the start every night.
